IPPT Score Chart 2026: Complete Points Table by Age Group
If you've ever stared at your IPPT results wondering exactly how each rep and each second translates into points, this page is for you. The IPPT scoring system is age-adjusted, which means your score depends not just on how well you perform, but on which age band you fall into.
This page breaks down the complete IPPT score chart for 2026 — push-ups, sit-ups, and the 2.4km run — across every age group.
How the IPPT Scoring System Works
The IPPT is scored out of 100 points across three stations:
| Station | Maximum Points |
|---|---|
| Push-ups (1 minute) | 25 points |
| Sit-ups (1 minute) | 25 points |
| 2.4km Run | 50 points |
Your total score determines your award:
| Score | Award | Incentive |
|---|---|---|
| 85 – 100 | Gold | $500 |
| 75 – 84 | Silver | $300 |
| 51 – 74 | Pass | $0 |
| Below 51 | Fail | Remedial Training |
The minimum passing score is 51 points. You need 85 points for Gold and 75 points for Silver.
IPPT Age Groups — Which Band Are You In?
Your age band is determined by your age as of the year you take the test. The bands are:
- Under 22
- 22 – 24
- 25 – 29
- 30 – 34
- 35 – 39
- 40 – 44
- 45 – 49
- 50 – 54
The older your band, the more lenient the scoring thresholds. This means the same number of push-ups earns more points for a 42-year-old than a 27-year-old. The system is designed to be fair across the entire NS lifecycle.
IPPT Score Chart — Push-Ups by Age Group
Push-ups are timed at one minute. Points range from 1 to 25. Below are approximate benchmarks for key scoring thresholds:
| Age Band | Reps for ~10 pts | Reps for ~18 pts | Reps for 25 pts (Max) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22 – 24 | ~18 reps | ~28 reps | ~44+ reps |
| 25 – 29 | ~17 reps | ~27 reps | ~42+ reps |
| 30 – 34 | ~16 reps | ~25 reps | ~40+ reps |
| 35 – 39 | ~15 reps | ~23 reps | ~38+ reps |
| 40 – 44 | ~13 reps | ~21 reps | ~35+ reps |
| 45 – 49 | ~11 reps | ~18 reps | ~30+ reps |
Note: Exact official tables are published by MINDEF annually. Always verify via the NS Portal before your attempt.
IPPT Score Chart — Sit-Ups by Age Group
Sit-ups are also timed at one minute. The points structure mirrors push-ups:
| Age Band | Reps for ~10 pts | Reps for ~18 pts | Reps for 25 pts (Max) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22 – 24 | ~20 reps | ~30 reps | ~45+ reps |
| 25 – 29 | ~19 reps | ~29 reps | ~43+ reps |
| 30 – 34 | ~18 reps | ~27 reps | ~41+ reps |
| 35 – 39 | ~16 reps | ~25 reps | ~38+ reps |
| 40 – 44 | ~14 reps | ~22 reps | ~34+ reps |
| 45 – 49 | ~12 reps | ~19 reps | ~30+ reps |
IPPT Score Chart — 2.4km Run by Age Group
The run is worth 50 points and is the most important station. Faster time = more points. Below are approximate benchmarks:
| Age Band | ~20 pts (Pass zone) | ~35 pts (Silver zone) | ~50 pts (Gold zone) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22 – 24 | ~13:00 | ~11:30 | ~9:44 |
| 25 – 29 | ~13:30 | ~12:00 | ~10:00 |
| 30 – 34 | ~14:00 | ~12:30 | ~10:30 |
| 35 – 39 | ~14:30 | ~13:00 | ~11:00 |
| 40 – 44 | ~15:00 | ~13:30 | ~11:30 |
| 45 – 49 | ~15:30 | ~14:00 | ~12:00 |
Timings are in mm:ss. These are approximate guides — official cutoffs may vary slightly.
What Score Do You Need for Gold?
To hit Gold (85 points), you need to combine strong scores across all three stations. A rough Gold combination for a 30–34 year old might look like:
- Push-ups: 38 reps → ~22 points
- Sit-ups: 38 reps → ~22 points
- 2.4km run: 10:45 → ~41 points
- Total: 85 points = Gold
The run carries the most weight. If your run score is weak, you need very high scores from push-ups and sit-ups to compensate — and that's significantly harder to achieve.
IPPT Score Chart for Females
Female servicemen are assessed on a separate scoring table. The stations are the same (push-ups, sit-ups, 2.4km run), but the thresholds are adjusted for female physiological standards. Award tiers remain the same — Gold at 85+, Silver at 75–84, Pass at 51–74.

FAQ
What is the IPPT score chart used for?
It shows exactly how many points each rep and run time is worth, so you can calculate your score before or after your test.
Does the IPPT score chart change every year?
MINDEF reviews standards periodically. There were no major changes between 2025 and 2026. Always confirm via the NS Portal for the most current official tables.
Is the IPPT score chart different for NSF and NSman?
The same scoring tables apply to both NSFs and NSmen. The difference is in who is required to take IPPT and when — not in the scoring.
Where can I find the official IPPT score table?
The official tables are published on the NS Portal (ns.gov.sg). The tables on this page are accurate guides, but the NS Portal is always the final authority.
